Founders' Day Morning Tea & Assembly
Tuesday, 24 March 2020

On Tuesday 11 February we celebrated Founders' Day at Lauriston Girls' School. Since 1901 the School has inspired girls to be courageous lifelong learners. They are ethical and compassionate young women who seek to resolve new-world problems and strive to be responsible, global citizens working with others to shape their world.

We welcomed some of our most esteemed Old Girls to a wonderful morning tea prior to the assembly where they enjoyed catching up and socialising with our School Captains and Prefects.

We were proud to welcome as Guest Speaker Dr Avery Poole (1994), who is particularly passionate about International Relations and the world of today. Avery explained that her intellectual curiosity started back in 1982 when she first walked through the Lauriston gates on her first day of prep.

Finally, we enjoyed a performance of 'A Bridge Over Troubled Water' - a rather poignant and moving song and a very beautiful conclusion to a wonderful morning.
